Product description
Natural support for fish health
Zoolek Aquarium Salt It is a tried-and-tested product that has been used for years in the care and treatment of aquarium fish. Its action is based on a simple mechanism – it alters the environmental conditions in such a way as to inhibit the growth of many pathogens, whilst supporting the fish’s natural defences.
As a result, it helps to combat bacterial, fungal and parasitic infections, and also aids in the regeneration of damaged tissue. It can be used both to support treatment and to improve the overall health of fish.
A simple measure that requires careful use
Despite its effectiveness, aquarium salt is not a one-size-fits-all solution for every tank. Its effects are felt not only by fish but also by other organisms, which is why great care must be taken when using it in planted aquariums or those containing shrimp.
In practice, this means that it works best when used deliberately – under controlled conditions where the dose and duration of action can be precisely adjusted.
Purpose
Zoolek Sól akwarystyczna It is used in freshwater aquariums to support fish health in cases of poor condition, infection, or physical injuries such as wounds or abrasions. It may help to limit the growth of pathogens and act as an adjunct to treatment with other products.
It is also effective in improving the overall vitality of fish, particularly in species that can tolerate higher salinity levels (e.g. mollies). Due to its properties, it is most commonly used in the form of medicated baths, which helps to minimise its impact on other elements of the aquarium ecosystem.

Tip1:
How should Zoolek Aquarium Salt be used in practice?
A long bath:
for fish living in hard water – 3–5 g/l for 3–5 days,
for fish living in soft water – 1–3 g/l for 3–5 days.
A short bath:
for fish living in hard water – 10–20 g/l for 10–30 minutes,
for fish living in soft water – 5–10 g/l for 10–20 minutes.
Preventative bath:
approximately 3 g/l for 1 hour.
Aquarium salt works best when used outside the main tank. Treating water in a separate container allows it to work effectively whilst protecting plants, shrimp and sensitive fish species from the adverse effects of high salinity.
In short-term and preventive baths higher salt concentrations are used for a short period of time, and these are effective for a rapid response to problems such as such as parasites, the first signs of infection, wounds, grazes or swelling (e.g. of the eyes).
In contrast, prolonged baths are a gentler form of therapy and are used for long-term support treatment – for example, for fin necrosis, skin problems or thrush. In this case, lower salt concentrations are used for several days, adjusting them to the requirements of the species in question.
At higher concentrations, it is advisable to divide the dose into several smaller portions administered at intervals – this reduces stress on the fish and makes the treatment safer.
Remember that even a small amount of salt can be harmful to plants, shrimp and certain bottom-dwelling fish, particularly cichlids. Always use it with great caution in a community aquarium.
Once treatment is complete, carry out a partial water change of 30–50% to restore stable conditions in the tank.
