Product description
An effective approach to combating chickenpox
Zoolek Green Ichthio is a specialist aquarium treatment designed to combat one of the most common parasites found in aquariums – Ichthyophthirius multifiliis.
The disease manifests itself as characteristic white spots on the body and fins of the fish, and its rapid spread can lead to severe weakness and, consequently, even to losses in the stock.
The malachite greencontained in the preparation has a powerful effectantiprotozoal and antifungal properties, eliminating the parasite at its most vulnerable stage of development.
Safety for plants and tank stability
The product has been formulated to effectively combat pathogens whilst remaining safe for aquarium plants. It does not cause permanent discolouration of the water and, when used correctly, does not disrupt the biological balance of the tank.
Purpose
Zoolek Green Ichthio is intended for use in freshwater aquariums to combat fish pox (commonly known as white spot disease) , caused by the protozoan Ichthyophthirius multifiliis.
The product can be used both during an active infection and as a preventative measure – to reduce the risk of the disease developing in the tank.
Suitable for planted aquariums, provided that basic safety guidelines are followed. Does not permanently discolour the water.

Tip1:
How do you carry out an effective treatment using Zoolek Green Ichtio?
Dosage:
10 ml of the product per 100 litres of water
(approximately 2 drops per litre of water)
Remove the activated carbon and peat from the filter for the duration of the treatment, as these can reduce the product’s effectiveness. It is also advisable to increase aeration, as this improves the distribution of the product throughout the aquarium and helps the fish during treatment.
If the stocking density allows, raise the temperature to a range of 28–32°C significantly accelerates the parasite’s life cycle. This is particularly important because the product is most effective when the parasite leaves the fish’s body and is in the water – that is, at its most vulnerable stage. As a result, treatment is shorter and more effective.
After 6–8 days from the first dose, the dose should be repeatedto eliminate the next stage of the parasite’s life cycle. Once the treatment is complete, it is advisable to carry out a partial water change and support the fish with vitamin supplements such as Seachem Fresh Trace, which will speed up their recovery and help them get back to full health.
In aquariums with a higher pH (above 8), take particular care – the pH level may affect the product’s effectiveness and requires more careful dosing, so it is advisable to closely monitor the fish’s behaviour during treatment.
Remember that treatment addresses the symptoms of the problem, but not always its cause. Fish pox often occurs as a result of stress, fluctuations in water parameters, temperature fluctuations, overcrowding or mistakes during acclimatisation. Therefore, in addition to the treatment itself, ensure that conditions in the aquarium remain stable – this is the most effective way to prevent relapses and keep your fish in good health for longer.
