Product description
Insect protein suited to the nature of fish
Tropical Insect Menu is a food based exclusively on insect protein, which forms a natural part of the diet of many species of aquarium fish.
The recipe is based on three insects: the mealworm, the silkworm and the flour beetle, which provide easily digestible protein rich in essential amino acids. This formulation promotes healthy growth and development in fish, whilst reducing the amount of undigested waste in the aquarium.
Energy, immunity and healthy digestion
The high fat content, including omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, provides a valuable source of energy and supports the fish’s skin condition and overall vitality.
Insect protein stimulates the growth of probiotic lactic acid bacteria, which improves digestion, boosts the immune system and promotes faster growth. The chitin present in the feed activates immune cells, supports the natural gut flora and enhances nutrient absorption.
A stable aquarium and an informed choice
Regular use of Insect Menu helps to reduce the biological load in the aquarium by decreasing the amount of waste products and helping to maintain stable water parameters. An optimal phosphorus level meets the fish’s needs whilst reducing the risk of excessive algae growth.
Using insects as the main source of protein is also a step towards more sustainable aquaculture, involving lower resource consumption and a smaller environmental footprint. The food contains no artificial colours or preservatives.
Purpose
Tropical Insect Menu This is a daily feed for omnivorous and carnivorous fish. Suitable for fish that feed near the surface, in mid-water and on the bottom.
Available in different varieties depending on the type of food, making it easy to choose the right one for a particular group of fish:
Type: Flakes – is designed for small and medium-sized fish (e.g. guppies, platies, mollies, Amazon swordtails) that feed mainly near the surface and in the upper parts of the tank. Once soaked, the flakes gradually sink, allowing fish swimming in the middle of the tank to feed as well.
Granules – designed for fish that feed in the water column and on the bottom (e.g. dwarf cichlid, Heller’s swordtail, cockatoo cichlid, angelfish)
The rapidly sinking granules allow you to feed fish that feed in deeper water, reducing competition at the water’s surface.

NatuCouncil
Tip1:
We recommend feeding fish several times a day in small portions, adjusted to the size and number of fish.
This food is best used in combination with other complementary foods to ensure a more varied diet.
Tip 2:
By matching the type of food to the fish’s feeding habits (flakes for the surface and mid-water, pellets for the mid-water and bottom), you improve food availability for the entire stock and reduce stress and competition during feeding.
Tip 3:
If you notice that your fish are lethargic, growing more slowly or experiencing digestive problems, switching to an insect-based diet may help restore their health. The chitin contained in the food supports the natural gut flora and activates the body’s immune mechanisms.
