Product description
Rapid response to infections and damage
Tropical CMF This is a versatile product for aquariums designed to combat infections bacterial and fungal in fish. It works quickly and effectively, eliminating microorganisms responsible for deterioration in condition and the development of diseases in the aquarium.
This product is particularly effective when fish show the first signs of health problems, such as fin damage, fungal growth or signs of skin infection. It can also be used to treat fin rot and as a supportive treatment for so-called ‘labyrinthitis’ in betta fish.
Supporting recovery and prevention
CMF not only combats pathogens, but also supports the regeneration of damaged tissue. This makes it particularly useful for treating wounds and abrasions, helping to reduce the risk of secondary infections and speed up the fish’s recovery.
The product can be used both in community aquariums and as short-term medicated baths for more specific problems, such as swelling or localised infections. It is also effective as an emergency treatment at the first signs of fish pox.
Purpose
Tropical CMF is designed for use in freshwater aquariums to combat bacterial and fungal infections. It is effective in treating fin rot, skin lesions, fungal growths and various types of mechanical damage, such as wounds and abrasions.
It can be used both during an active infection and at the first signs of illness to limit its progression. The product is also suitable for use in short-term baths for localised problems, such as swelling or infected wounds.

Tip1:
How can you carry out an effective treatment using Tropical CMF?
Dosage:
long-term treatment (7–14 days): 10 ml per 100 litres of water.
Short-term bath: (30–60 mins) 1 ml per 10 litres
Tropical CMF This is a product worth keeping to hand – especially when fish show the first signs of infection or physical injury. In such cases, a swift response is often crucial to the success of the treatment.
Remove the activated carbon and peat from the filter for the duration of the treatment, as these can reduce the product’s effectiveness. It is also advisable to increase aeration, as this improves the distribution of the product throughout the aquarium and helps the fish during treatment.
In the case of chickenpox:
If the stock allows, raising the temperature to 28–32°C accelerates the parasite’s life cycle. This is important because the product is most effective when the parasite is in the water, outside the fish’s body.
After 6–8 days, it is advisable to repeat the dose to interrupt its life cycle.
Once the treatment is complete, carry out a partial water change and consider supplementing the fish’s diet with vitamin supplements such as Seachem Fresh Trace, which will speed up their recovery and help them get back to full health.
For wounds and localised problems:
For localised problems, such as wounds, swelling or fin rot in individual fish, short-term baths in a separate tank are a good solution, without overloading the main tank.
For this type of bath, it is best to use water from the fish’s own tank and ensure vigorous aeration. If necessary, the bath can be repeated after a few days.
Attention!
When using this product, do not combine it with other medicinal products, as this may lead to unpredictable reactions and a reduction in the treatment’s effectiveness, or an uncontrolled chemical reaction in the water.
Remember that treatment addresses the symptoms of the problem, but not always its cause. Diseases often arise as a result of stress, fluctuations in water parameters, temperature fluctuations, overcrowding or mistakes during acclimatisation. Therefore, in addition to the treatment itself, ensure that conditions in the aquarium remain stable – this is the most effective way to prevent relapses and keep your fish in good health for longer.
