Product description

Expand

Red Cherry shrimp belong to the genus Neocaridina davidi.

They are perfect as a “cleaning crew” because they eat food leftovers left behind by other aquarium animals. In addition, they help to reduce algae growth in the aquarium, as algae are part of their diet. They eagerly eat diatoms, green algae, and small filamentous algae (although not all types).

What you should know before buying

Expand

Sold individuals may have different coloring – from completely gray to slightly reddish.

They are rejects from higher-grade shrimp, namely Sakura Red, also belonging to the genus Neocaridina davidi.

In order to develop properly, they need stable water parameters and a mature aquarium.

We sell specimens of the following sizes 0.5–1.5 cm for better acclimatization to the new conditions in the aquarium. Larger specimens tend to acclimatize less well to their new environment.
