Product description
What are frozen foods?
Frozen foods This is a natural food for aquarium fish, which is quickly frozen after being caught to preserve its nutritional value and a texture similar to that of natural food found in the aquatic environment. This ensures that the fish receive food that is as close as possible to what they would eat in the wild. Frozen foods provide an excellent way to vary the diet and are readily eaten even by the more demanding species of fish.
Artemia – a versatile, high-protein food
Prokarm Artemia, or brine shrimp, is one of the most popular frozen foods for aquarium fish.
It is characterised by a high protein content and good digestibility, thereby supporting the growth, recovery and overall well-being of fish. The food is readily accepted by many species – from small community fish to larger cichlids and schooling fish.
Natural support for colour and condition
Feeding frozen brine shrimp on a regular basis has a positive effect on the vibrancy of the fish’s colours and their overall vitality. It is easily digestible, readily absorbed and, when fed correctly, does not cause excessive water pollution.
Convenient format and wide range of uses
The structure of the food means that it initially floats in the water column and then gradually sinks, making it accessible to fish feeding in different areas of the aquarium.
Purpose
Prokarm Artemia is a high-protein frozen food that supports growth, colouration and the general well-being of fish, suitable for most aquarium fish, including small and medium-sized fish as well as larger community species such as guppies, neon tetras, rasboras, Ramirez cichlids and angelfish.
For very small fish (e.g. Innes’s neon tetras), it is recommended to crush the food before feeding.

Tip1:
Instead of throwing the frozen food cube straight into the aquarium, defrost it first in a small amount of water from the aquarium. Frozen food expands as it thaws — feeding an unfrozen cube can lead to constipation and stomach distension in fish, which in extreme cases can be fatal.
To maintain a balanced diet, it is recommended to supplement their diet with products containing fibre or chitin, which supports the proper functioning of the digestive system and prevents constipation.
