Tropical Welsi is designed for the daily feeding of omnivorous and carnivorous bottom-dwelling fish that forage on the aquarium substrate, such as corydoras, loaches, catfish, and smaller algae-eating species, providing them with a complete and balanced diet.

Bottom-dwelling fish are often most active at dusk and after dark, so it’s worth feeding them Tropical Welsi in the evening — this increases the likelihood that the food will reach them directly, rather than the fish swimming higher up. In community aquariums, scatter the pellets in several places on the bottom to reduce competition and allow for peaceful feeding gudgeons, minnows and catfish.

Keep an eye on how quickly they eat — bottom-dwelling fish should have time to feed on the pellets naturally and slowly.

When using foods such as Tropical Welsi, it is particularly important to monitor water parameters, especially nitrate (NO₃) levels.

Regular, moderate feeding and effective biological filtration are essential, but it’s also worth seeking additional support. One very effective solution in the event of an excess No. 3is the use ofSeachem Purigen, which actively removes nitrogen compounds from the water that are responsible for the build-up of NO₃. This keeps the water cleaner and allows the fish to fully benefit from the nutritional value of their food without placing an unnecessary burden on the tank.
