The power of biological filtration

BioCeraMAX is a line of filter cartridges (so-called ceramics) designed for efficient biological filtration in freshwater and marine aquariums, as well as in paludariums, aquaterrariums, and water terrariums.

Each variant of the cartridge is based on an exceptionally porous structure, which provides a huge surface area for the colonization of beneficial nitrifying bacteria, which are the “heart” of every aquarium.

It is these beneficial bacteria that are responsible for breaking down toxic ammonia (NH4) and nitrites (NO2) into much safer nitrates (NO3).

This makes the water biologically stable, friendly to the inhabitants, and creates a healthy, well-functioning ecosystem in the tank.

What is very important BioCeraMAX does not affect water parameters such as pH or hardness. It is completely inert to water and dissolved compounds, so you can use it in both fresh and salt water.

BioCeraMAX No additional preparation is required – simply pour the cartridge into the filter basket and place it in the appropriate filter chamber. The best results are achieved when biological media work after mechanical cartridges and before chemical cartridges.

The BioCeraMAX familyincludes various variants that differ in shape, material, and filtration surface area available for bacteria:

• BioCeraMAX UltraPro 1600 – sintered glass balls with the largest active surface area of up to 1600 m².
• BioCeraMAX UltraPro 1200 – rollers made of sintered glass with a surface area of 1200 m².
• BioCeraMAX Pro 600 – porous ceramic rollers with a surface area of 600 m².

All variants are ideal for use in bucket filters, sumps, filter chimneys, and many popular internal and cascade filters. The choice of the right model depends solely on the expected performance level and the type of filter used.

Tip1:

For ceramics BioCeraMAX To ensure that it works as long and as effectively as possible, do not rinse it in tap water! Tap water usually contains chlorine, which can destroy beneficial bacteria, disrupting the biological balance in the aquarium and ultimately killing the inhabitants!

If the cartridge needs to be cleaned, rinse it in water drained from the aquarium during water changes.

Tip 2:

When using ceramics to set up an aquarium, it is worth filling it with ready-made bacterial strains such as, for example, Seachem Stability. This will accelerate the maturation process of the tank, and beneficial nitrifying bacteria will settle in the filter bed more quickly. This allows for a more efficient nitrogen cycle and earlier introduction of fish, enabling you to enjoy a fully functional aquarium sooner.
