Organic carbon – a friend to plants, an enemy to algae

Qualdrop Carbo One is a complex, fully biodegradable formulation that serves as an efficient source of so-called organic carbon – one of the key elements essential for the proper development of aquatic plants.

Carbon plays a direct role in photosynthesis and in numerous biochemical processes occurring within plant cells. Regular use of this product promotes healthy growth, vibrant colouration and the overall well-being of plants in the aquarium.

Carbo One It supports plant metabolism, increases the efficiency with which available nutrients are utilised, and improves iron uptake. At the same time, it helps to limit the growth of unwanted algae, supporting the biological balance of the pond and promoting its stable functioning.

Effective in any type of tank

The product can be used both in aquariums with an additional CO₂ supply from a cylinder and in tanks without such a system.

In low-tech aquariums (with few plants or undemanding species), it provides an additional source of carbon to support their growth.

In high-tech aquariums(with a greater number of plants, including demanding species) it supplements standard fertilisation, increasing the efficiency of photosynthesis and the rate of plant growth.

Purpose

Expand

Qualdrop Carbo One It is designed for fertilising plants in aquariums. The product supports the biochemical processes taking place in plant cells, promoting more vigorous growth and improving their overall health.

It works well both in basic tanks – low-tech, where it can serve as the main source of available carbon, and in high -tech – more elaborate setups, with plenty of plants, a CO₂ system and intensive fertilisation.

It is particularly recommended for tanks with algae problems, such as long green filaments or black diatoms, where it can help to reduce their presence.

Tip1:

How should Carbo One be used correctly?

An aquarium with a small number of plants:
1 ml per 100 litres of water per day

An aquarium with a moderate amount of plants:
1 ml per 50 litres of water per day

An aquarium with a large number of plants:
1 ml per 25 litres of water per day

Depending on the rate of growth and the requirements of plants, the dose may be within reasonable limits appropriately increased or reduce, adjusting it to the individual needs of the aquarium.

Before each use, it is advisable to shake the bottle well to distribute the active ingredients evenly and ensure their full effectiveness.

Tip 2:

If using the product directly to combat algae, such as long filaments or black red algae, please follow the instructions below:

  1. Turn off the filtration system whilst applying the product.
  2. Using a syringe (preferably with a needle), apply the product directly to the area affected by algae.
  3. After 10–15 minutes, restart the filter.

The treatment can be repeated over the next few days until the problem has significantly improved.

Attention!

The method described above is intended to address the effects of algae blooms. No product can replace addressing the root cause of their occurrence (e.g. an imbalance in nutrient levels, unstable CO₂ levels, or excessive light).

When using higher doses, care should be taken with sensitive plants that have delicate, soft leaves (e.g. horned poppies, water crowfoot). Direct application of a larger amount of the product to these plants may cause damage or tissue dissolution.
