Sagittaria subulata<\/b>, also known as <\/span>winged arrowhead<\/b>, is an underwater marsh plant from the family <\/span>Alismataceae (Alismataceae).<\/b> It forms compact rosettes of leaves, from which long, flexible blades of an equilateral or ribbon-like shape grow. It spreads by means of thin runners, gradually forming compact clumps and dense lawn-like substrates. <\/span><\/p>\n Delicate, ribbon-like leaves<\/b><\/p>\n Individual leaves reach from 5 to even 60 cm in length and up to 6 mm in width, although in aquarium conditions they usually grow to about 8\u201310 cm. They have a slender, slightly ascending habit and a vivid green colour. Their tips are gently rounded, and the flexible structure of the leaves allows them to move freely in the water current. <\/span><\/p>\n Structure and balance in plant compositions<\/b><\/p>\n Sagittaria subulata forms regular rosettes and is characterised by a linear, upright habit.
